Why Some College Students don't have Auto Insurance
Are you a college student? Do you have a car? If so, you also need one other thing: auto insurance. Driving a car without insurance in the United States is against the law. Do you really want to take the risk of getting in trouble? If you are caught driving without insurance it could result in a large fine and/or a suspension of your license. Imagine the damper that would put on your social life.
There are many reasons why some college students don't have auto insurance. To start, it does cost a lot of money. The cost of auto insurance does not start to rapidly decline until the driver reaches the age of 25 - this is usually after most students are out of college. As you know, most college kids are low on money. This results in trying to cut expenses, and auto insurance is usually one that is thought about.
Others don't have auto insurance because their parents are not helping them. It is easy to stay insured when your parents allow you to be a part of their policy. But if this is not the case, things get a bit more difficult.
No matter how old you are, if you have a car you need to buy insurance. There are many companies out there, and some are more affordable than others. Don't fall into the trap of driving without coverage. If you do you are taking a big risk for the money you are saving.
If you are a college student make sure you have the right amount of auto insurance in place. This may cost money, but it will keep you and your car safe.
