New Car Technology May Prevent Accidents

Volvo car maker has long held a well earned reputation of making safe cars. Now they have gone a step further with their new revolutionary car safety feature called "City Safety.'

City Safety uses a combination of radar, infrared laser and cameras to help prevent auto accidents from occurring. City safety can tell you when a car is in your blind spot, if you are drifting from your lane, and can even brake the car if you come too close to another.

The Volvo engineers who designed City Safety believe they have made the safest car in the world. That is still debatable, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration believes the Volvo car which features the City Safety technology has already saved many lives. If City Safety continues to be successful, the technology may spread to other autos such as sedans and vans.

In Europe, auto insurance companies are already offering discounts for cars equipped with City Safety technology. Even if you do not have this new technology, a car equipped with many safety features can save you money on auto insurance premiums. Keep your car tuned up and tires checked to avoid accidents from mechanical failure, and as always, use the best safety feature of any car, seatbelts.
